Comfort from the first welcome
Two gentle Arusha nights create the right start, especially after an international journey.
Private senior journey
Arusha · Arusha National Park · Tarangire · Mto wa Mbu · Ngorongoro · Serengeti
A ten-day Tanzania journey from Arusha's garden calm through Mount Meru's foothills, Tarangire, Mto wa Mbu, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.
Overview
This route follows Tanzania's northern circuit in a rhythm designed for comfort: Arusha, Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Mto wa Mbu, the Ngorongoro Crater and the great Serengeti horizon.
Private guiding makes the safari deeply personal, allowing each chapter to unfold with time for quiet views, thoughtful encounters and the kind of moments that do not need to be hurried past.
Highlights
This is one considered journey through Tanzania's northern circuit: close wildlife days, a cultural pause and enough time in each place to feel its character.
Two gentle Arusha nights create the right start, especially after an international journey.
Two full days among baobabs and elephants ensure the park is experienced rather than simply passed through.
A lodge on the rim makes the exceptional wildlife day below feel relaxed from beginning to end.
Three nights in the central plains allow the wild to set the pace, with a seamless final flight back to Arusha.
Day by day
Follow the journey below. The map will keep pace with each chapter, while the small details stay deliberately open to the rhythm of the wild.
Arusha
Your host meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and takes you beneath Mount Meru to Arusha. The evening is deliberately simple: settle into your room, enjoy dinner and let the first chapter begin without any need to do more.
Arusha National Park
After breakfast, travel into Arusha National Park, where forest, open glades and the Momella Lakes sit beneath Mount Meru. Giraffe, buffalo, colobus monkeys and a remarkable variety of birds bring a gentle first wildlife day, with the drive shaped around comfort and the pleasure of taking time to look.
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, the journey turns toward Tarangire. Giant baobabs give the landscape its stately rhythm, while the river draws elephants, birds and predators close to its edges. Your first drive is simply an introduction to the park's quiet abundance.
Tarangire National Park
A full Tarangire day is an invitation to stay with what is interesting. Watch elephant families at a water source, follow the day through the grasslands or pause beneath a baobab simply to take in the scene. The vehicle, guide and rhythm remain private to you.
Mto wa Mbu · Karatu
Leave Tarangire after breakfast for Mto wa Mbu, where the green abundance of the Rift Valley meets the warmth of a lived-in village. Walk with a local host through small lanes, taste seasonal produce and meet the farmers and craftspeople whose stories belong to this place. Later, the road rises gently to Karatu.
Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into Ngorongoro while the Crater is still cool and quiet. Lions, elephants, hippos, birdlife and the rare black rhinoceros all belong to the possibility within this immense natural bowl. After a generous picnic on the floor, return to the rim, with the evening held free for rest before the Serengeti journey tomorrow.
Ngorongoro · Central Serengeti
After breakfast, continue west toward the Serengeti, allowing the road to become a game drive as the highlands fall away into endless grassland. Arrive in the central plains with the afternoon still open, then settle in for three nights where the next morning begins exactly where the wildlife is moving.
Central Serengeti
The day opens with the Serengeti's cool first light and no fixed agenda beyond following what is most compelling. Lion, leopard, giraffe, elephant and the movement of the migration all belong to the possibility. Your guide leaves room for the sightings that invite you to stay longer.
Central Serengeti
A final full day leaves room for the safari to offer something unexpected. Return to a favourite valley, watch elephant families move across the open grass or simply take in the quiet theatre of the plains. It is the luxury of staying longer that lets every sighting find its proper pace.
Central Serengeti · Arusha · Departure
After breakfast and a final game drive if time allows, fly from Seronera to Arusha. Your host meets you for a farewell lunch before the private airport transfer, letting the journey end as it began: with every practical detail quietly in place.
